What Happens in Vegas...

We got a lot of different reactions when we talked about moving to Las Vegas. When most people think of Las Vegas they think of the desert. Everyone has a story about that one time that they visited here and it was hot as an oven. They're not lying. It's definitely a desert.
Or people think of the Las Vegas strip - Sin City. That's here too.
But Las Vegas is a huge city, and the strip is 25 minutes away from us, and we live in a suburb that feels like an oasis in the middle of the desert, and I can handle the heat.
My favorite part is that we are surrounded by mountains.
Added bonus, I'm loving all the palm trees.
So yes, we have found a place to call home, and it's even better than we were hoping for.

Overstaying Our Welcome

It's entirely possible that I've been busy lately. I still have so many things to do, but I'm finally to a point where I feel like I can take some time to sit down and catch up on this blog. The challenge will be to remember everything that has happened since my last update this summer. It's been a long time, and my mental energy has been depleted severely, so bare with me as I wade through my scrambled brain. At the beginning of August, I moved with Madelyn and Alex to Las Vegas, just in time for them to start school. We did not move right into the home we bought here, because we had agreed to do a 1 month lease back to the previous owner, to give her more time to get out of the house. Try as I might, I was not able to find a 1 month rental, so we did an Airbnb. Not exactly the cheapest thing, but that's what we got. Joseph stayed with his grandparents in Manti for the month of August so that he could keep the dogs there. We didn't want to worry about having dogs in an Airbnb, even though we could have. And Joe was finally able to move out of his dumpy little apartment downtown, and be with his family again. It was a really nice Airbnb, with everything that we needed, and the owner, who was this cute little old lady from Italy, was just lovely.
It was nice to have a place to stay, but we were all dying to get into our own house. We drove by it so many times, I'm sure the neighbors thought we were stalkers. A month is a long time to stay in someone else's home. So we just counted down the days.
